HINTS ON PACKING

     If you are going to pack some items yourself, please be aware that so-called "neat" packing is sometimes ineffective. For example, if you are packing dishes, it is improper packing practice to layer the dishes with sheets of newspaper. Un-crumpled newspaper does not provide any shock cushioning. To properly pack fragile items such as dishes and glasses, it is best to CRUMPLE the newspaper (if you're using newspaper) so that each piece "floats" in the box. It is best to wrap each glass or dish in a soft cloth or towel, and pack shredded or crumpled newsprint between and around each piece. The boxes containing fragile items should be very sturdy and be clearly marked "FRAGILE - DO NOT STACK". If you've never packed for a move before, it is best to let our moving professionals handle the packing of all your fragile pieces. We have the proper packing materials to do the job right, and you will be assured that every piece arrives safely. When you call us, tell us that you would like your estimate to include packing of your fragile items. Our costs are reasonable, and the small additional expense is justified because you will be assured your one-of-a-kind pieces arrive safely.
